How’s pandemic been for you - what’s yours last 12 month story?

While there are difficulties and despair for several people during this pandemic, it is also an enabler for many to take the charge and make a difference. It is sad to see so much suffering and loss of lives. While I empathise with the people for all the challenges they are facing, I have made several leaps during this pandemic. Let me take some of these and explain further:

1. Learning - I have invested a large chunk of my time in the last 12 months learning. And this learning is not limited to just one aspect. I have learned about several topics. For ex. I completed my certification from the John Maxwell Enterprise to become a certified trainer, speaker and coach. This was a significant step in my life. Of course, learning to grow on LinekdIn by making the best use of the platform was important and joining the KIOL program helped.

2. Entrepreneur - I am now an entrepreneur pursuing my dreams and working on things that I love. I have invested a large part of the last 6-7 years learning and growing myself. Now is the time for me to make a leap forward. So I have my own venture called Propelurs Consulting that is now up and running.

3. Speaking/Training - I have hosted multiple sessions on negotiation during the last 12 months. One such session on negotiation was for NUS Alumni which was attended by 270+ participants. I have also been invited as guest speaker on multiple podcasts, LinkedIn Live and YT Live sessions.

4. Author journey - I published my first book just before the pandemic and my second and third books during the pandemic. It has been a great experience. Writing has now become a passion. In addition, I now help aspiring and current authors in their author journey.

Overall if has been a great journey and is also a step upward and onward to accomplish more and achieve great results.

Share your Linkedin journey?

I had been dormant on LinkedIn for a long time. For a long time, it was an occasional post and some likes on others posts. I would add one or two people per month. In early 2020, I had about 700 connections. I started engaging more on the platform in March 2020. I met some amazing people and great content creators. People who were doing much more that just the occasional post. I started connecting with professionals, learning and growing. While I can say that I have grown my connections significantly to be almost 7 times the number in March 2020, I still haven't done full justice. I plan to ramp up more over the next few months.

Your AHA moment on the Killing it on Linkedin Workshop?

LinkedIn is a great way for me to meet people who are aspiring to create meaningful content and add value to people. I have met several people who have inspired me significantly to go and share content and help others.

A learning that you would like to share with everyone?

LinkedIn as a platform brings several benefits. One thing I have learned is that don't aspire to get 100's of likes and comments, and dont chase followers. Post good content. People note it. Many times, people who have not responded on my posts will message me separately about my posts or things I am doing.

what do you love doing on weekends?

Focus on recharging, spend time with family, play with kids, create content, design things
